Classic North – 6 Days

Day 1:

Fly to Bahir Dar. Visit Lake Tana to with the monasteries of the Zege Peninsula Azewa Mariyam and Ura kidan mehert.
In the afternoon, drive to the Blue Nile Falls for a hike in the surroundings.

Day 2:

Drive to Gondar and visit the UNESCO Royal Enclosure, a group of castles from the 17th century. In the afternoon, visit the DebreBirhan Selassie church and the Fasilide’s swimming pool.

Day 3: 

Drive to Simien mountains national park. Early in the morning, the jagged mountains and deep valleys lend spectacular views to these mountains, home to many of the endemic animal species of Ethiopia including the gelada baboon (guaranteed to be seen) as well as the rare Walia ibex and Ethiopian wolf. The afternoon will be available for hikes in the area surrounding the lodge.

Day 4:

After breakfast drive to Gonder & Fly to Lalibela in the afternoon visit the wonderful rock-hewn churches of King Lalibela built in 12 century.

Day 5:

Drive to YemherhannaKristos, a rock-caved church located 42 km away from Lalibela in the afternoon visit the remaining group of churches in Lalibela town.
O/N Lalibela

Day 6:

Fly to Addis Ababa with time to do some souvenir shopping or sightseeing. In the evening, farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant with local dancers and musicians representing some of the country’s ethnic groups. Transfer to airport for departure.
