1. Booking Confirmation

Once the customer agrees on the tour package and price quote offered by Rotate Ethiopia Tours, the customer will receive a booking agreement that will be signed and sent back along with the payment receipt of the deposit according to the payment method chosen by the customer. The individual or organisation appearing on the contact details of the booking will act as customer and will be responsible for ensuring that any other additional client is fully aware of the services provided by Rotate Ethiopia Tours along with the booking terms and conditions. Once both the booking agreement and the payment of the deposit are received, Rotate Ethiopia Tours will start managing all the necessary bookings according to the program.

Although Rotate Ethiopia Tours will assist the customer in the preparation of their trip to Ethiopia, each individual taking part of the tour to Ethiopia will be responsible to be in possession of a valid passport, visa of entry and any necessary health, vaccination or inoculation certificates required by the Ethiopian authorities prior to the arrival to Ethiopia.

Rotate Ethiopia Tours will assist the customer in the preparation of their trip to Ethiopia and commits to providing the best customer service possible. Each individual taking part in the tour to Ethiopia is responsible for ensuring they are in possession of a valid passport, tourist entry visa (obtainable on arrival to Addis Ababa International Airport) and any necessary health vaccinations or inoculation certificates required by the Ethiopian authorities prior to arrival in Ethiopia.

2. Prices and Payment Methods

The tour prices will be arranged by request according to the client’s needs and budget. Prices are not fixed but depend on different factors such as season rates, fuel prices, hotel rates and currency exchange rates. The program contracts and service agreements become valid upon confirmation of the booking via e-mail, telephone, fax or letter and after signing the booking agreement.

The tour can be paid in ETB, USD or EUROS. If the customer decides to pay in a different currency to the one specified in the final quote accepted by the customer, the exchange rate as per the moment of issuing the invoice will be applied.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we have reduced the 35% required deposit to confirm your booking. Therefore, a deposit of 10% of the total amount is now required at the time of the tour booking so we can cover hotel bookings and pay required deposits. The payment of the deposit can be done according to the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer. The customer will assume all the transfer fees according to the sender’s bank. Rotate Ethiopia Tours will not share any transfer fee with the customer.
  • PayPal. Even though there is no fee to sign up or send money through PayPal to buy goods or services, a 4% transaction fee will be added to the invoice as per the conditions imposed by PayPal to companies using this application to receive payments for goods or services.
  • Western Union

If the deposit has not been processed, Rotate Ethiopia Tours will not be obliged to provide any services to the customer unless there is a written agreement authorised by the General Manager, Binyam Ayaliew Kassaye.

The remaining amount will be paid on the day of arrival at the office or before starting the tour by using one of the following payment methods:

  • In cash. Payment can be made in ETB, EUROS or USD.
  • Card (Visa or MasterCard). Please note that sometimes the connection is poor and they system may not work.
  • Personal cheques
  • PayPal. Even though there is no fee to sign up or send money through PayPal to buy goods or services, a 4% transaction fee will be added to the invoice as per the conditions imposed by PayPal to companies using this application to receive payments for goods or services.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations will be subject to the loss of the booking deposit depending on the notice time:

  • More than 30 days notice: the customer will receive the deposit back with a penalty of 10% of the total amount
  • 15 to 30 days notice: the customer will receive 50% of the deposit back
  • Less than 15 days notice: forfeiture of the entire booking deposit

Unfortunately, we will only be able to refund payments against credit card payments done via Paypal or those paid locally in ETB. Due to shortages of foreign currency in the country it is impossible to reverse bank transfers.

Rotate Ethiopia Tours understands how difficult and uncertain it is to plan a trip nowadays. We have updated our cancellation policy to allow customers to receive a travel voucher valid until December 2022. The voucher will allow customers to rebook their trip in the same value of the amount already paid at the moment of the booking. Please note that we will try to keep the same conditions of the tour package. However, hotel and flight bookings will be subject to availability.

4. Transportation and Accomodation

Rotate Ethiopia Tours will endeavor, as best possible, to make hotel bookings to accurately meet the customer’s preference and budget. Rotate Ethiopia Tours will always try to find the best available hotel according to local availability. If the customer is not satisfied with the room assigned by the hotel, Rotate Ethiopia Tours will strive to find a more suitable alternative with no additional costs. In the event that extra costs are incurred for a change in accommodation, the customer will assume this extra cost.

Rotate Ethiopia Tours has a fleet of different transportation options (4×4 cars, coasters, minibuses, etc.) to meet the needs of groups and individuals. Rotate Ethiopia Tours will advise on the most appropriate transportation option for each customer’s tour, in line with their specified budget and destination.

5. Travel Insurance and Labilities

Rotate Ethiopia Tours does not provide any travel insurance covering the medical expenses or repatriation costs of customers. Nevertheless, Rotate Ethiopia Tours will cover the insurance for all the vehicles used during the tour in accordance with Ethiopian law.
